A few weeks back when The Guv’nor was interviewed by the Wall Street Journal, the paper printed a picture of Charlie Watts in top hat and morning suit along with the article.
This lead The Guv’nor to comment that, of all the Rolling Stones, Charlie was the best dressed because he had the style of a jazzman and not a rock star.
Well we’d also forgotten that Mr Watts can be something of a wag on the quiet, too. Here are a couple of quotes upon which we stumbled recently to prove the point.
On the Rolling Stones’ reputation: “I wouldn’t want my wife associating with us.”
On ageing: “We’re a terrible band, really. But we are the oldest. That’s some sort of distinction, isn’t it?”
