The Morning Coat

The Morning Coat takes its name from the garment worn by gentlemen in the early 19th Century when out riding at the start of the day. A coat that was not an encumbrance on horseback was the requirement – hence the cutaway at the front. Indeed in American parlance the coat is often referred to as “a cutaway”.

Our own-label Morning Coats arrive in the Kensington shops THIS SUNDAY – bang on time for Ascot! Here’s The Guv’nor

“We have solved the climate change problem – our own label 100 % merino wool is arriving. Don’t say we’re not good to you!

It is a lighter weight and the cloth breathes more than ordinary wool. Also, the lining is not polyester, it is a breathing fabric.

Our morning coats are beautifully cut, and made by a leading manufacturer who makes for some of the top names in Europe.

He has a highly skilled and experienced workforce.

We believe it to be one of the finest morning coats available… if not the finest.

That is all.”
