So yesterday we had a bit of fun with nasty movie dads in time for Fathers’ Day.
On the day itself we present the finest father ever to grace the silver screen – Atticus Finch as played by Gregory Peck in 1962’s To Kill A Mockingbird.
Superman in a seersucker suit. The greatest Southern Gent of them all. Oscar worthy? Dammit, he shoulda been Canonised.
Sons and daughters pay attention: let your old pater off the hook today. It’s Fathers’ Day, so know this (and try to remember it every other day, too): your dad may be a grumpy old sod, irascible, impatient, judgmental and slow to praise at times…
But inside he’s STRIVING to be Atticus Finch as played by Gregory Peck.
HAPPY FATHERS’ DAY TO ONE AND ALL
